February 21, 2026 - Song Circle at Bnai Israel - Please join us for our next song circle at Bnai Israel Congregation in Rockville on Saturday Night, February 21st at 7:30pm. Our theme will be "Bring us back to Friday Night" and we'll be strumming and drumming our way through songs from Kabbalat Shabbat and Shabbat Zemirot. On March 15th, we'll be attending the Hadar DC: Creative Arts Immersive with opportunities to sing with Rabbi Deborah Saks Mintz as we prepare for Pesach.
On April 19th, join us for a song circle at Shaare Torah Congregation in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
On May 31st, Tikvat Israel is hosting the Acapella Group Six13 live at Richard Montgomery High School.
Mark your calendars for the annual Hadar Rising Song Summer Intensive at Yeshivat Hadar in NYC on June 28th.

January 6, 2026 - Songs from the Beit Midrash - We met in a member's living room space and celebrated melodies from the liturgy.
September 11 - Sounds of Selichot at Tikvat Israel
Sunday, August 10: Niggun Circle - All Wordless Melodies - We met again in a member's living room space and blended voices wordlessly.
Sunday, June 29: Rising Song Intensive workshop - We had strong representation at this year's RSI Summer Intensive. We traveled to NYC on the train and spent the entire day immersed in glorious harmonies, learning new niggunim and sharing ideas and techniques for getting singers involved. We can't wait to share what we've learned!!
Tuesday, April 15, 8:00 pm: Niggun circle - At Tikvat Israel Congregation in Rockville for an evening of communal song. We basked together in the afterglow of our Passover seders! This niggun circle highlighted the music of Joey Weisenberg in anticipation of Tikvat Israel's upcoming concert honoring Cantor Rochelle Helzner and featuring Joey and his Rising Song Ensemble.
Thursday, March 27, 8:00 pm: Back To Our Roots - Almost a year since our spirited group first gathered in Rena Strauss's living room, we returned to the living room space. We chanted Havdalah and made beautiful music - and Ma'agal Maryland was born. We marked our "almost-anniversary" with an intimate gathering in the Rockville area that took us back to our living room roots.
February 1, 2025 - Niggun Circle at Bnai Israel with Cantor Bolts and percussionist Steve Bloom. Steve's drumming provided a fabulous backbeat to our voices!
January 26, 2025 - Song Circle with Baltimore with Raza, Chana Raskin, Rabbi Deborah Saks Mintz and others.
October 21, 2024 - Shirah B’Sukkah Niggun Circle. Beautiful night in the Har Shalom Sukkah!
